>>1694397A meme is just something that is repeated. Which includes all aspects of farming/gardening knowledge and methods. This whole thing with memes, red/blue pilled, based, etc is absolute "zoomer" shit which belongs in a compost pile, but not in these threads. A 2 minute google search can net you all the info you need, hence a question like, "Is ____ a meme?" is absurd.
>>1694400Whiteflies are a god damn scourge. I've always found that relying on predator insects is as you imply, not very effective since predator numbers rely on prey numbers and strive for balance at the best of times which is rare.
>repelling plantsI rarely find that any of these work, in most situations. Trap crops will work better, but the biggest problem is that whiteflies can have a species preference. So, while you may find that poisetta is super effective at attracting whiteflies, that whitefly species doesn't care about your other plants in the first place so, it doesn't work as intended and another species of whitefly still wrecks your plants.
For repelling and trapping, the plants you use normally need a rather widely planted boarder around the plants you want to protect. This can become quite inefficient for land and resource usage. Typically, people that try these things out have those boarders far too narrow and the effectiveness drops to near zero as a result.

Those sticky traps are pretty effective for trapping adults too. You can even make them at home. Just slather petroleum jelly on some yellow poster board and make a wall around your plants with it. I know someone who made a 3' high portable folding partition wall for this purpose.
