It turned out to be a pretty damn good hatchet once sharpened properly and oiled up.
I need to find some quality wood for a handle though and I'm thinking about if I should try to mold some type of rubber onto it for grip or just rough up the varnish with a pattern once I varnish it. to add some grip.
But no, If anything if it was haunted the poltergeist would be happy I'm taking good care of it.
And I'm working on another tool I found too.
A very old pickaxe I found in deep in the woods embedded on a hillside, buried partially.
I already cleaned the rust off it and did some work on it but I can get some pics if you like.
It's really nice. I love finding old rusty items innawoods and restoring them.
It's a good feel.
