Unless it directly affects our ability to engage an outdoor activity it should stay in /pol/. For example discussing a change in laws regarding hunting or fires would be alright, but national parks lifting the ban on concealed carry would not be. It would go in /k/ or /pol/
Regarding "expeditionary travel". I think a good rule of thumb is "If you hired a guide it belongs in /trv/" this goes for hunting and fishing too.
