First off, you dont need 2 pairs of socks for these, but the last is enormous so you will probably have to size down if youre not double wrapping. Second off, the leather in these is a very, very low quality full grain. I hate to break it to the finns here, but a subpar boot. I can only assume that the people who swear by these have never owned a quality leather boot in their lives. The pair in picrel lasted a season and a half before i had entire sections of the stitching coming apart with full tears in the leather. This is with brushing after each use. If youre planning on wearing these for serious hikes, dont expect them to last long.
Ive since switched to vibergs and there is a world of difference in durability and comfort. If there is one thing thats worth spending extra on, its footwear.
