>>516190Are you my dad? He's halfway through the Bible and gave me THE EXACT REASON (he's catholic, though). I find it important to get the exact gist and know the references, stories, parables (I guess that's what you call them). What I hate are the Bible code idiots. I was one of them until I got the bigger picture
>hurr durr if I go with a sharpie like this, it spells satan>hurr durr it must've been so in the arameic version as well!Sorry about typos, I'm not well-versed in bible terminology (arameic & parables)
Yeah, I think knowing about religious topics is very important, thank god for newer translations of the Bible. The last version of the Czech bible is from 1961 and it's been starting to rot a bit. I'd love to translate the bible someday. It's important. And I'll hide cryptic shit in it.
Back to the /out/ side of it, a bible may be fine, but if you can, store an electronic version in your phone so that you can read it. On longer trips I wouldn't advise that, no charger and all, but 3 days might be fine if you play it smart.
>>516136Take a look at military can openers, mine goes on the ring of my wallet and is like 5 grams tops, light as 1 coin. Small and does the job well. After you eat the beans, keep the cans (leave no trace rules), clean them out and stick used socks or whatever in them. That'll save you space, you can use them as hobo stoves/pots if need be.
