This guy who lives on that lake and fishes there all the time was telling me about how he got a 17lb, 47" snakehead out of there and I think that's what it was. I had 15lb braid on that rod, and the drag was set so it takes a feisty 3lb+ bass running its hardest to even get it to click. This fish ran out like 30yds of line in a couple seconds flat after I set the hook. If it weren't for that, I would just write it off as a big snapping turtle.
Oh, and yesterday I saw some kid riding his bicycle down my street with a fishing rod. It was just like a 6'6" M combo, but there isn't really any freshwater around here unless the kid rode like 3mi. I really should've asked where he was fishing at. Maybe I could've had a new fishing buddy.
