While I generally agree with the current administration's policies, I have to disagree on this one. National Parks and Monuments are an integral part of the American experience. These lands are the envy of the modern world. I've spent much of my life in National Parks and even the ones that aren't as well-known (Sequoia and Kings Canyon) were always full of tourists from around the world - China, Germany, Brazil, Vietnam, UK, etc. And the famous ones (Yellowstone, Glacier, Yosemite, Zion, Grand Canyon) are even more packed with foreigners. Maintaining a healthy blend of national Parks, Forests, and BLM land is imperative, not only for ourselves but for our children and grandchildren. They are irreplaceable value to our nation.
If you want to spur economic growth there are far more impactful things you could do anyway, like reducing and simplifying regulatory bureaucracy. But leave the public lands alone. Once they're gone, you can't bring them back.
