>>2468054Nah it's just a pic off an image search, an example of a Jersey Giant. They were bred to replace turkey meals but they couldn't commercially compete with broiler chickens like the Cornish Cross in terms of feed to harvest. However I'm a big fan of them and wanting to raise a bunch because:
>their size can help ward off certain predators>they are multi-purpose, giving both egg and meat production>they're generally gentle giants and aren't known for aggression I think it'd be badass to have these birds walking all over my property. For this spring I'm also planning on making a black soldier fly bin to provide the flock with a ton of protein and calcium. That, some table scraps, and free ranging should be enough for them.
