I happen to like this rod a lot and fixing it took two minutes of my time whereas a replacement would be a different model and it would have taken at least three weeks to ship to me. Don't know what you're talking about with moving a rod tip down. I reattached the original tip. Originally I had used a metal nail on the inside secured with rod builder's epoxy and reinforced the outside of the blank with extra thread wraps. I think the epoxy has trouble bonding to the metal so the tip slid off of the stent but the thread wraps reinforcing the blank held up. This super glue should form a stronger bond between the metal stent and blank so hopefully it's stronger than ever. It's not pretty but I can still cast and I can still reel in fish. It's a little bit less accurate but that's really a nonissue.
