>>2425846When it has been raining all day and you are completely soaked, your campsite is completely soaked, you set up your tent and get water in it while setting it up, and you're worn out from all day of hiking, you are not going to want to scavenge dry firewood and dry tinder to start a smoky fire to boil water for your cooking. You're going to want to eat ready-to-eat foods, like your trail mix, energy bars, cheese, sausage, jerky, etc. And if it's been raining all day, or the rain goes on for multiple days, you're soon going to run out of those foods and be left with just the foods that need to be cooked, which is all you'll have for the last days' breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hope you like stopping your hike multiple times a day to make a campfire just to eat a snack.
