I pay $400/mo including utilities and internet to live way fucking better than that with 2 roommates in a 3 bed 3 bath bordering a nature preserve and it's not like I'm hemorrhaging money into bullshit bills and crammed into a concentration camp
I don't see why you have to go way out of your way and blow your savings to live in a closet to be able to simplify and minimize your living
