We camped at the phelps mountain campsite, which meant dragging a winter pack in 4 miles because the ADK parking lot was full. The hike up and down Marcy itself isn't bad, but packing up camp and night hiking out an additional 4 miles with a 45lb winter after doing marcy was a huge pain
Mt washington on the other hand was much shorter day trip, and really lucked out since winds that day were <10 mph, and actually got to spend some quality time at the summit
