I am going to ascent Mount Elbrus next year. I would love to make a timelapse of the process.
This would require for the set-up to have power for 2-3 days (8-10 hours a day). Maybe this could be achieved with solar panels, and using a GoPro with something like
http://benlo.com/msp430/GoProController.html to reduce power consumption.
But one remaining problem is the temperature. The GoPro's battery is not protected from the surrounding sub-zero temperatures, and i would expect the battery to die quickly, just as my ordinary digital camera did on Kilimanjaro.
I am looking for a camera with a detached battery, such as pic related
Any suggestions?
