>>1641252>how do i get clean water?Filter or distilling.
>Boil unclean water and collect the mist in a cooking pot? That is distilling. It will work. There is a survival tool for seafarers called a, "solar still," which sea water is placed in and set in the sun. It slowly distills the salt water and collects the fresh water for drinking. Using a fire will be much faster. Simply boiling the water and allowing sediments to fall to the bottom will be good enough in most cases.
>What about food? Is there really not another way other than eating meat from animals?Animals are rarely toxic or poisonous to eat. They are the safest bet for food when you do not have enough skill or knowledge to properly forage for fungi or plants. Get some pocket guides for the area.

>>1641259>no, thats retardedI think he means distilling the water. If so then that is the best method for filtering water since it leaves behind like 99% of everything. Only some volatiles from heavily chemically polluted water would be difficult to get out using a water still. Distilling is labor and time intensive. A good water filter would be better for short term innawoods stuff.
