>>350901>Anybody else got some old/oddball lures to share? Also looking for suggestions for fishing-related artworks. Classic, modern, abstract, realistic... redoing my study/office/den space and the walls are pretty barren. Anybody have some favorite fishing-related art?
>>350903The reply I made above could just as well apply to you. As well as mine and others' answers to the lures vs bait debate. Start with a rod, reel, line and something curved and pointy.
>The cheapest? Not recommended but to be honest you could go out and buy a children's Zebco spincaster lined up and ready to fish, put a hook, weight, bobber and some earthworm on the hook and you'll start catching fish. Of course you don't need to dump a lot of money into fishing either. The old Quantum Lite Pro I mentioned above is out of production now (if I'm not mistaken) but I've seen it listed still on various sites for no more than $15. Comes with some solid ceramic guides and I'd know since my father and I have been using it and the old Lightning Rod for probably more than 20 years. Get something like that, throw a moderately priced open-bail spinner on and tie on an inexpensive lightweight spinnerbait. Guarantee you'll have some fun or at least learn to fish a spinner without the worry of losing a larger, more-expensive lure.
