a couple months ago when my peppers started germinating I found one plant had only developed a single leaf.
as other plants went on to their second and third true leaves this one did nothing more than bury its roots.
i couldnt bring myself to discard it given its resilience so - while its brethren left home to experience life in the garden - i snipped the only leaf it had to leave a leafless stump.
but life clung to it like a disease.

and last week - after having been given a death sentence by my secatuers - it came into flower.
