Boats of different sizes but relatively similar proportions could be built and race in that class, hence the different sizes of Skärgårdskryssare (SK40, SK95 and SK150 have been posted here for example.
They were quite popular back in the day and as a result there were quite a few mainstream "production" boats based on their designs with more or less direct interpretation. Most of these production boats were made out of plastic and had bigger interiors for mainstream appeal. I think it was these production boats that sort of diluted the term and today "Skärgårdskryssare" is often used when referring to any very long and slender boat with a full keel and often somewhat tricky looking rigs.
Pic related for example is a "Swede 55", the DNA of the Skärgårdskryssare can be seen quite clearly in the shape but it has a much bigger "superstructure", for lack of a better word, to fit more accommodations inside. This boat is from the 70s.
