Saw one of the Anza Borrego ghost lights in an old train tunnel. The tunnel itself is pretty long, about a quarter mile, and curves so you can't see the other end of the tunnel for a good part of it.
As we were walking along, we saw what looked like another hiker towards the other end of the tunnel shining a flashlight at us. It seemed to respond to us flashing our lights back at it, so we assumed it was a person. We didn't encounter any other people on the way out of the tunnel and there was nobody around when we got out. The trail is visible for quite a long time, has a steep mountainside on the right and a cliff into a deep canyon on the left so it's highly unlikely that it was just someone shining a light and then hiding. We also checked around to see if there were any surfaces that reflected the light back and could find none.
It was vaguely creepy I guess, but it was more of a "Wat" moment than an "Oh shit" moment.
