>>2128003It sounds like more of a scouting mission. Try to find info if you can about decent spots if possible, and be on the lookout for any surface activity when you're on the water. It's the easiest giveaway for locating fish. Otherwise, look for curves in the river, sunken logs or rocks, anything that you can see that causes an eddy in the water or gives cover. Don't be bothered if you catch nothing. It's your first time after all. You may catch a lot though, but if not, enjoy yourself anyway. After a while, you can figure out any body of water, but time will always be the investment. That, and all the different lures, rods, reels, bait, watercraft, etc. that are sure to be part of your future if you find this is something you like. Good luck.
