Maybe have those red bars be slanted like that slashes in /out/, and put something in the center in place of the maple leaf that represents /out/ (like a mountain or something, I don't know). That way, the flag will symbolically spell /out/.
I like what some other anons have come up with so far--this is just another direction to consider.
