OP here, holy shit are you people worked up. Let me clarify my situation:
I live in the woods. 25 acres. I've lived here for more than 20 years. The fishercats have moved in ON US, and they like to hunt up around our house and eat our cats. We have plenty of other predator species around-- coyotes, hawks, I've even seen the occasional wolf. I don't have it out for these beautiful creatures, because they haven't been a recurring problem to me vis a vis eating my pets.
Fishercats are beautiful creatures as well. I respect them. But they are vicious, conniving weasels with a nasty disposition. Anyone who's never seen one in action wouldn't understand. I'm an animal too. No one's going to tell me I can't defend my small territory against invasive animal predators.
To those of you here comparing me to those childish animal-immolating sadists on /b/, fuck you too. I love nature. I happen to have beef with this particular set of fishercats. I can't ask them to leave. It's killed animals of mine who were extensions of my family. For this, they deserve to die.
And I let my cats outside because they don't stray too far from the house, and they hate being cooped up. I keep them indoors at night during times when I can hear the fishercat scream, but sometimes they're sneaky and silent. And when they're sneaky and silent, those weasels come up to my house to eat my cats. So fuck them, and fuck you if you think I'm a monster.
Pic related, it's all the places fisher cats can live and hunt except next to my fucking house.
