Pros:
+ You can make one yourself extremely cheaply
+ Fuel is more available and much cheaper than gas (the main reason why I chose them)
+ they're more lightweight (it's easy to carry only as much fuel as you need and you don't need heavy, metal containers to do so)
+ they're almost completely silent.
+ your pots will stay clean (so they're better than wood stoves)
Cons:
- they're a bit more finicky to light up, (but it's not an issue with stoves that use a wick, since they don't need any preheating or waiting for the flame to bloom. Pic related, I have something like this and I love it. It's called "fancy feast stove")
- you need more time to boil water
- wind guard is absolutely necessary (I suggest making one out of two beer cans in the shape of caldera cone).
