I only have experience carving with a normal hatchet. Wouldn't your hand get in the way when it's behind the blade? Know of any videos that showcase the technique maybe?
Pic related is the bigger part of my own collection. It's a bit dark so some blades look like theyre coated when theye not. But whatever.
I guess I like a mix between modern and traditional when it comes to my user knives. Mora bushcraft black is my go to knife at the moment. But I'm trying to put aside some cash to expand my traditional styled knives for collecting purposes. They'll always win when it comes to looks.
Btw, I have a mora whitting knife aswell, but I can't figure out where I put it.
