These two love going /out/. One is an american pit she's going on 13, and the other is blue tick and pit. Both strong obedient dogs. The brindle one is a doofus but picks up commands fast, has one hell of a nose, and great stamina. The black one gets tired anymore on long hikes because of her age. But she's a natural gun dog and retrieves really well.
I also have a Chihuahua. He's actually the best one to take on long distance hikes. The other two get tired after about 3 miles in the hills if its hotter than 80. He's gone 10 in a day with 90+ degree heat and never slowed once. Funny thing is he's 12 and when I rescued him he was a ball of fat. The old lady that had him fed him nothing but chicken and rice. Now he's a beast.
