I’m hiking the Highline Trail in the High Uintas of Utah in July with my brother. I’ve got six months to train. I just did a 5 mile walk through my neighbor with a 30 lb. pack. The route I took is kinda hilly so I got some good up and down walking. I haven’t hiked with a pack in at least 5 years and I’m not in the best shape but goddamn that felt fucking great. I plan on doing this at least 5 days a week and gradually add weight to my pack. When it gets warmer I’ll start packing in the mountains to really tune-up for the long trip.
