>>1296687For feathering and sharpening sticks you want a knife with scandi grind. It cuts wood better and controlling the depth of the cut is easier than with any other grind. You don't want serrated edge on the back of the blade, that's where your thumb is pressing when you're doing fine work. If you need a tiny saw, get the smallest Victorinox with a saw as a backup knife (like Camper). At least that saw actually cuts, unlike saws found in toy survival knives. And yes, serrated or partially serrated blades are even worse. Useless when out and they can not be sharpened without special tools.
Just buy a Mora Companion (carbon steel) and be done with it. Black, green, orange, whatever color you like. Use Youtube and learn to sharpen it properly. Adding patina when it's still new and shiny is not a bad idea.
