i love agressive fish, even if they are dinks, this rockbass barely fit the lure in his mouth and ate at my feet
>>2718300epoxy the reel in to the rod. put shoe polish on the foot of the reel so that if the rod breaks you can dremel the reelseat and chip the epoxy to get your reel back. you could also try t-rex tape, or zipties covered in electrical tape. the zip ties are not comfy, the electrical tape makes it less miserable.
i had a rod wth the problem, i never bothered trying to solve it, but thats the only way i can think of.
you could try cutting the grip and reel seat off and buy some components from janns netcraft and fix it that way, which is technically the right way, but it sucks to do
