The mountain is really steep and trail markings aren't always great. Very fucking rocky. I've never gone in the winter because people have a historical propensity to go Popsicle mode there. She 100% never made it to the ridge line, there's a cabin not far from the summit that she could have taken shelter in.
There's one really steep section a good portion up that's just on giant boulders with minimal places to support oneself and it's near a cliff. She could have easily stepped on ice and taken the quick exit down. I've seen people get lost in the spring/summer who looked actually experienced, she never stood a chance.
