There are plenty of places with temperate climates. The place I live in has a subtropical climate with some frost in winter. Further south you can even find subartic weather in Argentina and Chile. Depending on where you settle you might not raise up that much racial attention too. (Though you probably won't ever lose your accent and people will still think that you're rich once they are aware you're from North America)
It isn't as affordable as you might think too. Land here (in Brazil at least) is actually more expensive than in Canada, probably due to it being very, very fertile and that it grows stuff year-round.
