some brands lie and actually use 18656 batteries and then sell them to you for $20 a pop
lots of cheap battery knockoffs
at the highest setting the battery drains in 40 minutes
also they get hot as fuck
cheapo chinese ones come with 50 different modes you need to cycle through
not many come with a red or green light
just buy a simple petzl and bring a set of spare batteries. mine lasts an entire week and i dont always need to replace the batteries. they also have a rechargable pack thats lighter than 3aaa and lasts longer, but is expensive.
