>>1785770>any years you recommend? Not exactly. I'm not sure when they went downhill, just that most US market sporting arms did. Late Marlin 60s have complaints against them. I would look for a visibly older used one. For example, look for polished bluing instead of the bullshit "matte" oxide coatings everyone uses now. A stock made of walnut is a good indication. Pic related is from Marlin's website. They call this a "walnut-finished hardwood stock." It's birch with an ugly stain. Plastic sights and small parts are newer, and worse. A paragraph of warnings stamped on the barrel is also an indication of a newer gun.
I'm sure many people are happy with their new-ish guns, but those guns are seriously lacking because retard consumers think everything should be priced like chinkshit goods. But because we can't import Chinese guns the manufacturers have cut every possible corner.
Consider the AR-7 I was talking about earlier. The originals had aluminum barrel shrouds. While Henry has added new features, they have also replaced the shroud with plastic. Maybe it's ok, maybe it's not. I don't honestly know, but I like traditional materials and I'm not having it.
