I actually consider a lot of place in Texas when I think of the outdoors, but my personal place is the Texas Hill Country simply because it's where I grew up.
It's not really comparable to some of these vast mountain and pristine lake areas people are posting. It's all cedar and limestone, with some oaks and other spikey shrubs, but it will always hold a special place in my heart, even though I've experienced, and will continue to experience grander views elsewhere.
And yes, I did just use the current Wikipedia picture for Texas Hill Country...weak I know.
