You should have known better than to go on an outing alone with some guy you haven't really known for years. I'm not saying a man and a woman can't be friends, but if you saw one man and one woman together hiking or camping, what would you think? I actually have my very own platonic /out/ buddy, but I know better than to plan anything including her with fewer than three people along. I think in our case we might not stay platonic if we went off hiking for days, though... don't plan to find out, but her husband might not be too keen to hear that she and I were off fishing alone together.
