I find that my muck + tarps and accessories isn't the size of or smaller than my friend's dome tent, it's just much more comfy. Here's my setup - it has fitted tarps. I put one on the top and one on the bottom and it's a bretty good seal. In crazy horizontal wind & rain it might let some water in the sides, but overall it's a pretty self contained water-resistant capsule
