One diesel took a few glow-plug cycles, the other one just wouldn't go.
About once a month there's someone at the trailhead with a gelled-up diesel. Unless you're running a generator, there's no power around to run a block heater.
Truthfully, i'm between a gas and diesel motor, as far as when I'm towing. A diesel wouldn't be a total waste, but the common fuel between sled, bike, generator, and truck is really nice... and I don't have to fuck around with fuel additives and block heaters in the winter which is where my truck gets most of its exercise.
In the summer I'd MUCH rather be on the bike.
