>>1571512>200Even the East Coast Appalachian states have more than that.
My state has 7,497 mountain peaks (barely in the top 10 in the US) contained within 200 ranges, ranging in elevation from 701 ft (214m) to 12,633 ft (3850m). Minimum requirement for prominence being 300 ft (91.4m). Maximum prominence being 6,320 ft (1926m), maximum vertical relief from same range being 8,024 ft (2446m). And even with this my state is not a Rocky Mountain state or a main part of the North American Cordillera. It is 6th in most elevation range between highest and lowest points, 6th in land area (roughly same size as the British Isles), 7th in highest average elevation, and 12th in highest point in US. And there are at least 8 other US states with more impressive statistics for mountains than mine.
