There is no vaccine for Lyme disease and as someone said before is only transferred from the tick after the tick is engorged. However tick-borne encephalitis is being transferred directly from the ticks saliva and even if there's a vaccine for that, it's still complicated and a lot of people aren't vaccinated. Tick-borne encephalitis may cause serious damage to a human, may cause you disability for life or even death. Here is a map of tbe spread in Europe.
