>>1207245>Was that head sail hanked at one time?Hanking points went into the track where you see the reinforcing diamonds. I swear some owners would have you sail with canvas sacks if it kept the miles off their 3Di.
I knew the Indio crew pretty well! Boss was a bit of an odd duck - Indio has a 52ft chase boat (pic related) and the skipper of that was a shit hot trimmer, he sailed a few windward leewards with us at an Antigua sailing week. We were having a few beers after tying up for the day and as he's browsing the crew agency websites as we all do, he finds his very own job being advertised, except this is the first he's heard about it, queue some awkward conversations with the captain of Indio...
Indio ended up in NZ a couple of years after that incident for a yard period and a mate of mine got offered the stews position which was vacant at the time. Very first boss trip they had after sailing all the way back to the Caribbean, the captain took her aside and said she was being let go as the boss said she was too pretty and felt threatened. The Boss is indeed the one in the black hat.
No doubt we've got the same mates, it's a small industry!
