>>533865Well I guess it depends on what you consider OK pay. With just my BS I could probably get a job as a wildlife technician for a state environmental agency. For example NY pays $15/hr for wildlife technician positions.
As you gain experience in the environmental science field the more money you tend to make. If you look on
USAjobs.gov the pay scale for jobs in say the USGS, Forestry Service, or Fish and Wildlife largely depends on experience. If you're fairly new and have limited experience you can expect to make around $25,000-30,000. But if you have say 5 years experience you could make as much as $45,000-50,000. After 10 years you could probably start looking at jobs that pay $70,000-80,000, typically as a senior ecologist or biologist.
The other option is of course going to get your MS. With a MS you automatically gain access to jobs that typically require 5+ years of experience with a BS.
The short answer is do you want to just start working but make lower wages until you get more experience or go to get a MS that will open more opportunities, but potentially have more student debt.
