> set the spool on the floor label-side upYeah, that's what I did and the Stren still screwed me over, while I never remember the Trilene do so back in the day, though that was 8lb line for an ultra-light spinning rig (which also needs replacing).
I'm thinking the issue is simply that the 17lb line is thicker and more prone to retaining line-memory, thus twisting and nesting on me.
