Hello /out/, I am new to hiking and want to hike a lot more often this year, so I'd like to get a dedicated pack. I'm leaning towards 45Lish capacity because I want space for extra winter gear in the future. I am currently in Japan so I have access to the Montbell stores.
I want a good, durable pack that will be comfortable for day trips or overnighting and has good waterproofing for the frequent rain here. It should also work well during the winter.
I've been looking at the Montbell Kitra Pack 45, Montbell Granite Pack 40, Osprey Archeon 45. Open to suggestions and advice for a newfag. If I get Montbell I'll try it on in-store first.
