it's rated to 350 pounds on one prong but i'd say never go over 200 in non static weight (aka moving). i use it for line throwing/catching, pulling tree limps down and on rare occasions climbing. i only weigh around 125 so it's safe-ish for me, but it's not marketed as a climbing device
