i´ve met my wife while /out/ing many moons ago, she was backpacking with a sister in Bolivia.
she's tough as a nail and a great companion. we have travelled with our backpacks through chile, bolivia, perú, brasil, most of argentina (where we are from), morocco, north of thailandia, some nat parks in europe, etc.
she's a veggie but she doesn't mind if i hunt or fish.
we've had 2 kids, and we did some /out/ with them, it's doable but not easy and you have to resign a lot of things, specially freedom. but now they are becoming teens and they are not too much into /out/.
the sad part is that now when we are free to travel together again she busted both her knees and can't climb a hill or walk a km with a backpack.
sometimes i go alone or with friends, and she does not complain about it, but i feel really sad for her and sometimes i miss her a lot.
pic extremely related, gettin to the top of villarica vulcan in chile, short after we met.
