tl;dr get an ultra lightweight kettle and if you need to cook for more than one have a pan or pot that nests if possible.
>>663060I saw this set up at REI or another /out/ oriented retailer recently. Is it a pretty sick set up and nests on nests on nests on nests so you have tons of stuff in a seemingly contained profile. However, after looking at it in detail it seems a bit overkill, especially for any trip of length that isn't in a car. It is significantly heavier than my current set up and seems like it would be rather bulky in a pack. I really like that idea of it but I can't justify adding the weight and size. I always go camping with my camp buddy and we try to make as many things work for two people as possible. Carrying two of these just for cooking would take a lot of space. I really am torn.
>>663076I carry one of these and pic related. This way I can clean up water, make tea, boil meals, etc. while using the stanley to do any of those simultaneously. If I am not going far I also carry a 2.6L stainless pot that folds the handle over the lid for carrying and leave the stanley at home. It really depends on the situation. I always recommend kettles though, you can do so much with them.
In all honesty, I wonder how you guys cook in just a sierra cup. I guess part of it is I am always cooking for two but even with a single person I don't see it being enough.
