I ordered some new tobacco a while ago. WhiteKnight, Black House, Peterson Standard Mixture, and Early Morning Pipe. Thought I'd share my thoughts on them.
Firstly, WhiteKnight is phenomenal. It's got such a great flavour, and the retrohale has no bite whatsoever. It's creamy, and doesn't bite (in fact, none of the tobacco I got do). I'll be ordering some of this in bulk (Balkan Sobranie Match) for sure.
Early Morning Pipe is also incredible. It's delicate, but not lacking on flavour. It's maybe my favourite of the lot I got, and I'll easily order more. It's something I'll be recommending to everyone I know - it's just that good. I would put this in my permanent rotation, along with Nightcap and WhiteKnight.
Standard Mixture has a very strong nutty taste that I can't quite place. It's something roasted, but the nuts come through more than any other flavour. Not bad, but a very particular kind of smoke that I don't always feel like. Not a great amount of nicotine either, and so it leaves me feeling kind of wanting by the end of the bowl.
Lastly, Black House, which is strongly flavoured and smoky. It's rich, but like Standard Mixture, isn't something I'd care for all the time. It's still great, but maybe too "dark" for my palette.
All in all I'm pretty happy with the haul. I'm in Canada, so I can only get 4 tins at a time from 4noggins, but their selection always seems pretty good. Next up I'll be ordering My Mixture 965 and Haunted Bookshop, while restocking some of my favourites. I'll share my thoughts on them once I've had some time with them.
