You should have grabbed the squirrel, asked a cute girl to come with you, and then gone off to "set it free" a few miles away. You would have returned with the unanimous approval of the women, and all the men would have followed suit. At that point you're the guy, the one who fixed the problem for everyone. But you did the opposite -- you got yourself shunned because you went barbarian mode in what was still a relaxed social setting.
