1 set fire to something flammable like birch bark or dry spruce branches
2 start with very small sticks, you need much of them, put them in fire
3 burn them until you get stable fire
4 get bigger sticks
5 goto 3 and repeat until you get a lot of hot coal
6 put pair of logs into it and forget about it for few hours
wood must be dry
it means:
1. It must be dead otherwise it will not burn in 90%
2. It must be standing tree because fallen tree is wet inside after rains, you need few days of warm weather to use fallen trees as firewood
if you want to light your fire under rain you need protect it with your body from falling water at first. I use caniferous resin as thing that can burn under rain and give a lot of warmth instead of such things as birch bark. So I do everything like I'd do with standart algorythm but I also wait until wood will be dry. There will be more steam than smoke at first, lol. but when it flames up it's almost like standart fire.
