Working on raising my son to love the outdoors. Gonna be a bit tough because we live in the city and his mom is a city-liver born and raised. But, there's hope. We are looking to move to a more rural home with its own 1.75 acres and a small wooded plot.
I take him for trail hikes in the metroparks, and this year he'll be big enough (2 years old) to properly fit in a life vest so I'm gonna try and get him out on the water in my kayak.
I just bought a cheap one man tent today, that in a few years he will be able to use in the backyard with friends, and on simple car-camping trips with the family. I have plans to get him a bb gun and then graduate him to full /k/ status once he's bigger.
If it works to plan we will have many summers of hiking, camping, fishing, shooting, and hunting ahead of us before he turns teen and starts to hate me. Wish me luck, anons.
