This happened to me today:
>Fishing at my favorite spot
>Reel in a speckled trout
>He's hooked deep
>Try hard as fuck with 9-inch needle nose pliers to get it out clean but can't
>It's a few inches under the legal limit and game wardens troll this spot so i don't want to keep it, besides i didn't bring fillet knife
>Been out of water way too long by now
>Get the hook positioned as best i can and pull
>It comes out along with some flesh and blood
>Return it to the water but it just struggles on the surface for 45 seconds or so belly up
>pull it back out by hand and knife it through the brain because I didn't want it to suffer
>Feels bad man
Inb4 I'm a pussy... I've killed some deer and turkey and plenty of fish to cook and eat but I'm not about wonton cruelty.
