A friend of mine is a ranger at a local park where they are constantly working with bears. They got a report that a bear was hit by a train the other day and went out to see if it needed to be put down. When they showed up at the site, they found a severed black bear foot so they knew it would be in the area. The forest nearby was dense enough that they couldn't go through everything, so they used a drone with infrared to search. They quickly found a bear nearby but were confused to see that it had all its legs. When they went over to check it out, they realized it was a bear known as "The boss" who is the biggest grizzly in the park. He's been hit by cars before and lived. It turns out that he killed the black bear who got hit and was eating him.
